# Permissions

As you set up the Slack integration, you need to grant permissions to Woven in Slack.

The app requires the following permissions

* read and write messages for Woven in public & private channels, and DMs 
  * if and only if the bot user is explicitly added to the corresponding public channels, private channels, group DM, and IM
